When AW Senior Director of Digital Strategy Nick isn’t reveling in the variety of agency life and finding inspiration in his colleagues, he spends his free time keeping his writing pencil (and mind) sharp.
When you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be someone who studied both sea creatures and desert animals. I hadn’t really considered the logistics of splitting my time between the ocean and the desert, but I’m sure 10-year-old me would have had a sassy answer for that.
If you had to switch AW teams for one week, which department would you work in?
Creative, without question. I have an English degree and I’ve done a solid amount of professional copywriting in the past, so I’d love to hang with the AW copywriters and editors for a week. I still (try to) write in my spare time—it keeps the mind sharp!
What do you like about working at an agency?
I’ve been exposed to so many different clients in different industries, which has pretty much forced me to learn a whole bunch of cool stuff about those industries. Also, the variety makes each day different from the last.
What inspires you?
The people around me. Watching people work skillfully, solve complex problems, or have some sort of breakthrough is super energizing, even if they’re in a totally different department from me.
