Workers at Austin Williams now get every other Friday off, under a pilot program aimed at improving the work/life balance of employees.
“We’re enhancing the quality of life for our employees, giving them the benefit of three-day weekends on alternating weeks,” said Eva LaMere, president of Austin Williams.
Employees opted in and were divided into two teams, each of which will have off on alternating Fridays, in exchange for working one additional hour each day, Monday through Thursday of every week.
“We think people will be inspired to work an extra hour per day to achieve that day off for themselves, which will allow us to provide a consistent level of service for our clients while making Austin Williams a more rewarding place to work,” LaMere said.
